MightyText, the iMessage for Android. iMessage become famous because it transparently allows you to use free Apple protocol instead of SMS. If recipient supports iMessage, he will get iMessage. If not, he will get SMS. Carriers were quite angry about this, but they couldn't afford not to sell iPhones with everything that goes with it. It also allows you to do the messaging from Mac desktop.
MightyText has only the last feature. It synchronizes messages between phone and computer. If you send message from your desktop, it will transfer it to your phone and send as SMS. You have to pay SMS costs for each message.
While I like the idea, it is missing iMessages's key feature: transparent free messaging. It shouldn't be too hard to do it with Android OS extensibility.
